Philip Polgreen, MD, MPH

Professor
Biography

Dr. Polgreen’s research focuses on developing approaches to improve disease surveillance and to identify novel risk factors. His methodological approach, best described as computational epidemiology or data science, involves using both structured and unstructured data, building and using sensors, and running observational and small clinical trials. Although Dr. Polgreen’s work originally focused on infectious diseases, it has applications for chronic disease, and he has recently focused on understanding the extent to which risk for diabetes, pancreatitis, and kidney disease can be attributed to the CF-carrier state.
