Dr. Kumar’s research focusses on understanding the molecular signaling involved in the development of endothelial dysfunction with specific emphasis on sumoylation. At present, he is investigating how increased sumoylation deteriorates vascular function. There are reports showing that blood vessels of CF patients have impaired endothelial function. Dr. Kumar is evaluating how CFTR regulates vascular endothelial function.
